Mark Vasquez Music

I'm an alt rock musician from the greater Chicagoland area.  I've been playing in rock and metal bands for most of my existence now.  As of this bio update (11/27/24), I've officially begun the pursuit of an open music career.  I have much to offer as a creative person and have decided to make myself available via my website, livestreaming platforms, real life and virtual spaces, sharing my talents with anyone I can help.  I have amassed enough musical & technical equipment as well as years of experience, to contribute to almost any musical project.    

I have also worked in the live concerts industry for over 19 years as a "day of show" runner and hospitality person, a/v tech (of sorts), experienced touring van driver and merchandise seller.  I'm comfortable with the hard work & long days that this industry demands.  

Though I've been around for a while now, I truly feel like someone who is still enthusiastic about making music.  I consider myself a mostly positive person, a "constant learner" and someone who is just getting started.  There's nowhere to go but up from here!

My musical tastes and influences are fairly diverse and reflects in the bands I've played in... from Technical Metal, Experimental Rock, genre' bending Art Rock & Pop projects, my Indie Rock project “Gentle Gene” to my new Alt / Grunge band “The Dead Kettles”, I'm always looking to take my music to a new place. 

All that said, I'm ready to take on new projects that I'm passionate about and am making myself available to musicians / bands who are in need of a musical partner and someone to collaborate with.  I'm capable of working both online and in person.
